About Katie

Katie Weiss is an abstract painter and designer working out of a home studio in Sarasota, Florida.

Katie’s work is done largely in acrylic and incorporates gestural strokes, bold colors, and lots of movement. Due to a physical limitation, Katie cannot paint for long stretches of time. It is common for her to work in quick bursts and for a painting to take weeks to complete. Her work commonly incorporates many layers.

Katie’s love for art extends to her interior design work. She believes spaces should reflect those who live in them and she often centers designs on the art most loved by homeowners. Her spaces are warm, creative, and commonly integrate layers and texture—much like her paintings. She believes good design is possible within all budgets.

Katie has a BFA from the University of Wyoming. She shares her home (and therefore her studio) with her husband, two children, and their dog, Pickles.
